More info: Encoded using the H.264 codec at a constant frame rate of 25fps (to adhere to UK/International PAL broadcast system regulations), these clips were compressed from their original Apple ProRes 422 exports, then wrapped in a .mp4 container for optimum delivery and quality. With the dynamic nature of the clips, VBR (variable bitrate) encoding is used to ensure a consistent level of quality between frames – this method allocates higher bitrates to the more complex segments of the energetic clips and lower bitrates to the simple, less detailed segments, resulting in files with almost no digital artefacts.
